Mercer Torgau (formerly HIT Holz) is one of Europe's largest manufacturers of Euro pallets, operates one of the largest sawmill sites and is one of the most important producers of biofuels in Germany. In recent years, over 200 million euros have been invested in a highly technologised and fully integrated production process.
Over the last three years, all areas of the company in Torgau have been systematically reorganised in order to increase production capacity. To safeguard the infrastructure, the focus has been placed on fire protection in the plant, efficient maintenance and increasing occupational safety.
The majority of the fire protection systems are supplied by MULTIMON. Both the comprehensive sprinkler protection in the production halls and warehouses and the many gas extinguishing systems in the highly sensitive areas of the electrical and switch rooms are part of our MULTIMON order.
Due to the demanding completion deadlines and the limited space available on site, we designed our entire control centre technology in container construction. This meant that on-site assembly could be shortened by a significant factor and the project schedule could be adhered to.
